Management Team

Dr. Jianping Liu - Managing Partner
Dr. Liu is a founding member of CAC. Prior to CAC, Dr. Liu was a founding member of HuaMei Capital Company, Inc. (HMCC), and was Chief Operating officer, Executive Vice President and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions. HMCC was the first Chinese invested US entity created to offer cross-border financial market advisory services. Prior to HMCC, Dr. Liu was Executive Vice President of Liaoning Securities Co., Ltd. in charge of the investment banking, mergers & acquisition and research department where she successfully developed and executed the investment banking agenda. Dr. Liu has extensive mergers and acquisitions experience and advised more than 20 transactions. Dr. Liu was pioneer in making a television program titled Mergers and Acquisitions of Enterprises, which was broadcast twice throughout China. Dr. Liu has also advised nine municipal governments in China. Dr. Liu was an independent director for Jinzhou Port Co. Ltd. and Yingkou Port Co., Ltd and chaired two subcommittees. Dr. Liu has a PhD in Economics from Northeastern University, China, in 1995 and was a visiting scholar at the Department of Economics at the University of Chicago from 1999 to 2000.

Tim Mulholland - Managing Partner
Mr. Mulholland is a founding member of CAC. Prior to CAC Mulholland was Managing Director and a founding member of HuaMei Capital Company, Inc. (HMCC) where he headed the Asset Management division of the company. Mulholland was Executive Director of Melamed & Associates, Inc. (M&A) and Managing Director of Stevenson, Melamed & Associates (SMA), where he worked with licensed Japanese partners in sourcing, analysis and due diligence of alternative investment managers for Japanese institutional investors. Mulholland is also currently the Director of Research at PMK Capital Advisors, Inc., a portfolio management and advisory firm in Delray Beach, Florida. Mulholland is Series 3 and Series 65 registered, and is a frequent guest commentator on Bloomberg Television, Fox Business News, CNBC, First Business, BNN Canada, Sky Business Australia and BFM 89.9 Malaysia. Mulholland graduated from Bowling Green State University with a B.S. in Finance.

Dingwen Zheng - Managing Partner
Mr. Zheng has significant experience in the Chinese banking industry. Prior to joining CAC, Mr. Zheng was Deputy Director of China Development Bank (CDB), Liaoning Branch and over his 9-year career served as head of the Credit Department, Client Department and the Comprehensive Operation Department. He managed over $6 billion of credit assets and major infrastructure projects in China for CDB. Prior to joining CDB, Mr. Zheng began his career at China Investment Bank (CIB), Shenyang Branch, where he worked from 1992 until 1999. He was Deputy Director of the International Business Division where he was responsible for Trade Finance, Client Development, and International Settlement. While at CIB he did its first M&A deal through debt restructuring and also evaluated credit risk, lending and loan management in accordance with World bank standards for loans funded by the World Bank. Mr. Zheng received an MBA from the Northeastern University School of Business in China.

Professor Ansheng Dong- Partner
Based in China, Prof. Dong is a Professor of Law at Renmin University. He is a PhD Advisor, researcher at the Finance and Securities Research Institute at Renmin University, Vice Director of the Civil and Commercial Law Research Center, researcher of the Financial and Fiscal Policy Research Center at Renmin University. Prof. Dong is also a member of the China Law Society, Director of the China International Law Society, Director of the Chinese Comparative Law Society, Director of the Beijing International Law Society and Arbitrator of the Shenzhen Arbitration Commission. Since 1987, Professor Dong has taught civil and commercial law, securities law, company law, and international financial and economic law. Prof. Dong also lectured at City University of Hong Kong, Taiwan Huadong University, Shenzhen Stock Exchange and more than 20 Chinese securities companies. Prof. Dong has guided more than 150 masters and doctoral candidates. Since 1992, Prof. Dong has been engaged in the investment banking business as a lawyer. He has advised on more than 40 A-share listed companies, B-share listed companies, H-share listed companies and local listed Hong Kong Companies. Prof. Dong also serves as independent director on five Boards, including Beijing Capital Airport Corp and Wangfujing Department Store Co. Ltd.
